  • Lotierzo Looks At Wilder vs Ortiz

Lotierzo Looks At Wilder vs Ortiz - Showtime Boxing will be at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, November 4th with WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder facing Luis Ortiz in the main event spot.

The match-up has been talked about for a long-time and the announcement still caught some people by surprise. The undefeated Ortiz (20-) has not fought yet in 2017 while Wilder is coming aff a February stoppage against Gerald Washington in a performance many deemed flat.

In this latest TBC report we check in with our veteran analyst Frank Lotierzo to talk about the match that has finally been made official.

Yeah in 100% agreement. One tough fight to handicap given so many unknown variables about both. As I think about this fight and the styles, one thing I potentially see is a chess match the likes that may make the Monroe-Saunders look like a barn burner in comparison. Remember Wilder-Stiverne was largely a chess match in favor of course of Wilder and though I don't think Wilder is that dominant against Ortiz one possibility is we see a very very tactical affair here.

The fact that Wilder and Co. agreed to the fight....makes me think Ortiz is being set up to lose.
