The 36 year old Cotto was returning after a layoff of nearly two years but his fanbase did not seem to miss a beat he filled the StubHub with 10,000 fans chanting "Cotto."
In co-feature world title action, WBC super bantamweight champion Rey Vargasput together a strong performance from finish to end in outdistancing a game Ronny Rios. At the end of the day, Vargas moved his record to a perfect 30-0 via judges scores of 118-110, 118-110 and 115-113.
