Cotto vs Kamegai Results From The StubHub - Golden Boy Promotions hooked up with HBO at the StubHub Center to bring us Cotto vs Kamegai on Saturday night.

Kamegai started the fight coming forward and he ended it much the same way twelve rounds later. Cotto showed he can still put twele rounds of solid boxing in as he threw a high volume of punches in the fight against the game Kamegai. At the end of the day the judges had the fight for Cotto, who wins a world title at 154 pounds ant 36 years old.

WBC world super bantamweight champion Rey Vargas defended his belt against Ronny Rios. Vargas, an unusually tall fighter for the weight class at 5'10 managed the space efficiently throughout the fight. Vargas was not afraid to let Rios get inside from time to time and some good exchanges resulted but Vargas slowly wore Rios out. At the end of twelve rounds, the judges had the fight for Vargas by scores of 118-110,118-110,115-113, and he moves to a perfect 30-0.

Immediately after the fight HBO will be airing the latest episode of 24/7 featuring Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin as both men prepare for their September 16th PPV showdown.
