Jhonny Gonzalez Meets Undefeated Prospect Jessie Rosales - This Saturday, July 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] the city of Chihuahua, Mexico host the Kuchle brothers and their Promociones del Pueblo as they host boxing at the Lienzo Charro Parral.
The main event sees veteran Jhonny Gonzalez (63-10) facing undefeated Filipino prospect Jessie Cris Corrales (21-0-1) in what is scheduled to be his second bout of 2017. The 35 year old Gonzalez won the WBC’s Latino title at super featherweight in March of this year when he stopped Francisco Contreras in the third round of their bout.
The popular Gonzalez remains a draw in Mexico and he is looking to notch his sixth win in a row.
As for Rosales, this is a step up fight for him any way you cut it. Rosales is ten years younger than his opponent and the youngster is making his first fight in Mexico. He has fought most of his career at lower weight classes and is stepping up to face Gonzalez, who is ranked #5 in the weight division by the WBC.
The card also features the second professional fight for Mexico’s 2016 Olympic middleweight representative Misael Rodriguez, who takes on Colombian veteran Jose David Mosquera (16-9-1).
