Kerman Lejarraga vs Azael Cosio - This past Saturday, July 15th undefeated welterweight prospect ran his record to 23-0 with a third round stoppage win over Azael Cosio. The fight aired on GOL TV, an all-sports station in Spain and the video was made available to TBC by Lejarraga's handlers for all to enjoy.

The WBA currently ranks Lejarraga #5 in their 147 pound rankings, so if you have not heard of Lejarraga yet it is only a matter of time before we see Lejarraga again on the world stage.

Lejarraga made his stateside debut earlier this year defeating Jose Antonio Abreu by second round TKO at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. The fight was part of Showtime's card that featured NABF 140 pound champion Regis Prograis facing the challenge of Joel Diaz Jr in the main event back on June 9th.

Lejarraga fights out of the country of Spain, but interestingly the 25 year old identifies himself as 100% Basque. Lejarraga calls Bilbao, in Spain's northern Basque autonomous region as his home. Though speaking politics in Spain can be controversial, the Basque culture's fierce independence can be traced back to Roman times. Historically, the most notable Basque boxer may be Paulino Uzcudun, who fought in the heavyweight division in the 1920's into the 1930's. Lejarraga wants to be the latest boxer from the Basque countries to make it on the world stage.

It is cool when TBC is given access to show full fights, it is harder and harder to make that happens it seems. This one is cool cuz Lejarraga is probably gonna get a chance at some point. What the piece doesn't say is that he is a draw and is getting 10k people at his fights in Spain do he has some backing as well.

I love it Miguel, keep them coming. The more boxing that can be viewed the better and it is great to see some of these fighters who are not getting (but should be) a lot of press.
