Wrapping It Up

"Ted-
Well done as usual, and a cap to your great career- will miss your insight.
All the best,
Tony" Famous defense attorney and advisor to a number of world champions, Anthony Cardinale.

"Well sir, enjoy this crazy world we live in. And thanks for you patience. I love reading your stories.
From East La,
Your compadre
David Avila or as I'm known on the streets "D"

From former World Middleweight Champion and great friend over the years, Dana Rosenblatt: " Ted...You have done a lot in your life and for the sport in your reporting on what has happened in and out of the ring. You have much to be proud of of. From my perspective, watching the fights as a fan is pretty good. Enjoy it, brother. You will still be angry at the flagrant injustices that still permeate the game however you will likely feel them in a less drastic way. Not a bad thing.

All the best to you Ted

Dana Rosenblatt"

From great cornerman, manager, and owner Of Rival Boxing, Russ Anber:

"My friend!

I tweeted about it and tagged you in it.

You are the best at what you do Ted! A real student of the game, historian and a real fight guy, unlike those writing today. They are more interested in the scoops and dirt they get than in the quality of their work.

I will miss you, my friend. Please stay in touch. If you ever get up here or if I will be at a fight in the northeast, let’s try and grab lunch.

I would love to finally meet you in person!

You are a good man, Ted !

Hope to talk soon

Russ"

Yes. Few ever ask that question; they think it has something to do with Rance Barthelemy. His nickname was "Kid Blast" and he is a top level fighter from Cuba who is sill fighting (29-1-1). I got my moniker from Joe The Blond's brother, Albert Gallo whom I knew for a short bit when I worked in NYC in the 70s and hung out in Brooklyn. He is older than me but not by much. As for Joe The Blond he was known as Crazy Joe Gallo in Little Italy but never, ever to his face.

In Brooklyn, he was known as Joe the Blond.

Fact is, I looked a bit like "Blast" as we were both Old School and kind of dressed the same.

"Hi, this is a very good article, very strong and I guess extremely accurate and honest, as always. It is a pleasure to read it.

Ciao amico" Giorgio Corsi from France

"Sorry to learn this was the last of the run. You did some fine pieces that I enjoyed reading.
They often brought back memories of another place and time.

EZ E aka Jeno Febus aka Ernesto Morealas, NewyorkRican and former fighter who holds a UD over the great Alfredo Escalera. Great and close friend.

"Teddy BLASTER, as you already know, for some God forsaken reason I could never get my comments posted on TSS. As for your retirement from writing, well, that's a big loss for all of us that have enjoyed you sharing your unequaled experiences & knowledge of our sports and read the A+ books you have written. I have passed my copies to various friends and plan on obtaining more and to add to my fight collection. "Boxing Is My Sanctuary" & "Reeling in the Years" are truly my favorites. I MUST have them again I shared your article that included Charlie Gullotta with his relative and it brought tears to his eyes. I hope to someday bump into him again.
MR. TEODORE SARES aka Kid Blast, adored & respected "Uncle Teddy" bless you for your friendship & THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. WE SALUTE YOU!!❤"
